Really Decker? Really?

So I am forwarded a conversation on the dreaded PB Nation where I am once again the topic of discussion (I am still trying to figure out why, after I have been gone almost two years people still need to speak my damn name there) this time about how I am some dick because I am not nice when I barrel tag people or that I am a dick because I force people to follow the rules. Let me post the quote shall I?
Sorry Kerry. You know I support you in a lot of areas and I do love your games but that player just earned everything you said he did but you took it away by him not saying the right words... You may have to explain why that makes any sense at all. Especially when someone that may know your rules better is on the receiving end of an incorrectly worded silent elimination and turns around and says, "You mean barrel tag? Now you are out and I am still in cause you said it wrong...." Course the guy I am talking about is rarely that nice about it.
This is the barest breakdown of the rules. Saying the right words is just as important as making sure the barrel is at least 12" or that you have paint in your marker or air in your tank. It is part of the way you eliminate someone. If I told you that you had to have the marker in semi-auto only, or that you couldn't use off field paint, those are all parameters in elimination. The 'real world' vs the 'paintball world' is a stupid argument. This is a game of elimination, paintballs are merely one way to do so. This flows into the same argument that people have with LAWS or satchel charges or snipers and that is that they, as a player were not eliminated by a paintball and this is a paintball game. Actually it is a scenario game, and in scenario the nature of the game is elimination or defeat of elimination as there are multiple ways to be eliminated other than a paintball. So I am sorry, the act of doing the touch isn't the elimination, the touch and the words equal elimination. Any other argument is just not viable in this statement.
As for instructing the person in the correct way to eliminate someone in this manner, let me tell you from the 180+ games I have played, that people don't forget that and when they come back to barrel tag me, they get it right. On the flip side there are some promoters out there who's rules specifically state this: "Gently tap/touch the player with your barrel and give a statement that means that the general player would know he is eliminated". There is your answer, maybe you should be wanting him to change the rules to that, but until then, the GSRP and other promoters who require the words Barrel Tag, well people should follow the letter of the rules. Otherwise they are in that category of word that so many people love to use but few people really understand, and it starts with a C and ends with a heater.
Now had I seen that happen once or twice I am the type that could let that go. However I have seen this one player do that at nearly every Viper event he attends and many times during the same event... It really ticks off the person that got the drop on him and causes flared emotions when it could have been a fun moment if the initial loser just took it like a man and walked out silently... Another problem that person tends to have (cannot take anything like a man but that is another story for another thread).
I have attended over 70 Viper Events....how many have you been to Doug? Better yet, how many have you been with me? Let's go a step further, how many events have you been to with me at all, meaning any promoter? I wonder if you even really know. I find it funny you take one event (EMR) and the thing that happened at your base and try to cloak it as some honor bound thing. You might want to look the word up dude, I don't think it means what you think it means. I mean let's look at that game shall we? I was asked by the event promoter (Viper) along with Nudi to sit down with you and Barney before that game and go over how to play a Viper game. The concern was that with me as Josh's XO and his experience at Viper games you would be overwhelemed with the rules. We sat in the rec center for a freaking hour and half going over every rule with you (after I promised that everything discussed in that room stayed in the room so you could ask 'strategy questions'). There was no misunderstanding and you took stuff that I told you in that room and used it against my side at that game. So excuse me while I stand with my mouth a little open at your insinuation that I am without honor or integrity.
As for the specific thing you saw, let's talk about that shall we? I was in a contest with Dave Cilio (Your hero) who could drop the base first. I beat him over there and shot the lights (per the rules of Viper) the lights have to be turned off when shot, they were not. So I moved thorough and barrel tagged people, who refused to take the walk because there was confusion on the EMR rule (No Barrel Tags) vs the Promoter rule (Touch and say barrel tag) which then forced me into shooting people point blank with my pistol to get them out so that I could assault the base. Another conversation with the promoter and field owner yields a barrel tags are in effect, calls go out to refs (including your base ref) the proper way to barrel tag per the rules of the event (Promoters rules BTW)and I am told letter of the law, TB. Which I then enforce to the tune of about 30 eliminations going to your base and around your base. Which then caused your people to get mad and refuse to take the walk, several times, or screaming dead man as I barrel tag them, or using other expletives as I am walking though the base at will barrel tagging and shooting people.
The exact issue you are talking about was when you were already dead (ALL Dead and foot in the door, but that is another semantic argument)and decided to interject yourself into people running back from the insertion point hitting me with the barrels and saying everything from your out motherfucker to your dead assshole. My response every time was simply, you mean barrel tag as I tapped them. It continued to infuriate you, and you kept trying to say they aren't going to shoot you this close because they have honor, they barrel tagged you, leave, 3 refs including the head ref disagreed with you on the field. And after another 15 barrel tags in the lights in front of refs as these guys screamed profanity, someone finally got it right and I left. Only to have you on the radio and off the field angry at the promoter for allowing that kind of behaviour on my part. No profanity was issued by and no judge punch received for that incident. With 4 refs, a promoter and the field owner agreeing that I followed the rules. Now they were unhappy that I pushed it that far, but that is another story now isn't. But that was within the rules. Now before you reply, don't make me pull other fucking examples from that game about your violations of the spirit of the law vs. the letter of the law.
Anyway, spirit of the rule should be enforced rather than a hard coded bank vault combination to nirvana....
Spirit of the law is no enforcement, there is a reason there are attornies and people who know the rules. There are tons of examples in sport, business and life where knowing the law (not the spirit)can get you a win, save your ass from jail or get you something free. And that is all there is to it. All of this, is just butt hurt and personal issues you have with me. You want to get dragged into the muck, then come on down. But you would be better suited to sit on your white ivory tower and throw stones down on us common people who play the game.

Oh that's who that was?
Seriously I was trying not to embarrass the man...
Very few people knew who I was talking about.
And for the record I feel TB can be managed... you just have to give him control over everything at every game he attends and we will all have a good time marching in perfect formation paying homage to him as we pass in review.... lol
Seriously he has attended nearly 200 scenario events.. WHERE does that man find the time?
What the fuck ever.....you know who you were talking about and so did everyone else. And once Viper confirmed with his little kick at me (not allowed, I thought it was mutual agreement you ratsnake motherfucker)you certainly got the point. Again, I can point you to well over 100 commanders who can tell you I don't take over nor do I require that sort of bullshit pass and review or homage paying. Just grant me and my team our respect and we will be just fine. You know, you don't fucking know me, hell you don't even know of me, you have your own little ideas and that's ok. Unlike Hawk I have no respect for you, I think the fact that you have a little organization at a game is cool, but you utilize any advantage you can get. You sir, are worse then I could every be. You dress yourself up as this all honor bound and integrity player, I simply say I don't cheat. You warp yourself up in the flag of fair play and I say all is fair if the rules are followed. And that is why people who know you think that that your sanctimonious attitude is laughable. I may be a dick, but at least I back up what I say. Unlike some people!
As for 200 games, nope not yet. Maybe this year or definitely the next. What's matter? Jealous that I have set records you will never attain? Fields, promoters, teams, awards that you will never see or get close to? It's ok Doug, stay in your little world of puppies and flowers and the land of make believe where you do NO wrong and your way is the only right way. I'll stay here in my world, content to know that you are just a PAB.
And as for Ratsnake:
You can go fuck yourself! How was that 500 player game oh saviour of Houston? more like 340 when you take the comps out, didn't break 400 with all of them in it. There was 425 player game in the middle of MO, LMAO. Guess your counter recruiting didn't work that well now did it you pathetic cocksucker. Make sure the state of Texas gets their cut! ;) And I heard how your 'new' mission system was a utter failure. Guess there are at least another 50 players who have found that your brand of steak just sucks ass.

With 3 or 4 sharp witted helpers, and some aggressiveness, it wouldn't have been a joke to clean off the field repeatedly as long as the sun was up.
It's all about reading the rules and know how to use them better than the other guy.
I can't tell you how many times I got lit up as a flying monkey because the enemy players said I wasn't "running fast enough". There was quite a bit of confusion over the flying monkey rules. I heard a lot of rules lawyering going on over them.
It was funny to have a trail of enemy players following me waiting for me to land, or have them shoot at me in frustration because I was point out their position. LOL
I didn't do much "flying" on Sunday though. Gettin' LAW'd in the nuts from 20 feet has a way of doing that. :D
a week of not sleeping to crash develop the JME app, the complete disaster with force tracking, the worthlessness of a Verisign Java security certificate...
I go to my bachelor party on Saturday night. I'm sitting at a table eating hot wings and bitching about the disaster... and immediately 3 people pulled out Droid phones. Every one of them worked just fine with the original, google gears web page based force tracking setup I wrote 6 months ago..
I dunno whether to laugh or cry.
and not to derail this thread...

That's the funniest shit I've read in a long time.

Why is it being brought up? Why the hell did he have to bring me into it? The conversation was going just fine, and then poof, Doug brings me into it. On top of that, he didn't provide his side there either. He fed into the 'TB Hate' and got his licks in on someone who doesn't even post there in some attempt to put more of Viper junk in his mouth. He brought up the event since at the two other battles he and I have been at, I never barrel tagged him or anyone else. This was his only direct interaction with me.
And then his newest post: Just to clarify... I do not know why the "unnamed" has been banned from Viper games. Nor do I want to know. I do know he is afforded a bit more negative press than he probably deserves. However he tends to bring that on himself by being so outspoken against respected players, producers and fields alike.
I find it humorous he would call me out in his "World of DB" when he did not speak to me personally to understand my position on this matter. I attempted to be diplomatic about it and he chose to go public. If he would call me on the phone he would find out this is mostly a misunderstanding that has gone way too far. And I do have respect for a guy that played 180+ games. How can you not?
However that does not preclude the rest of us from having a difference of opinion from time to time.
Call us what you will big daddy but remember one thing... Our money is just as green as yours when it comes to this game.
In summary: After reading all this I feel there are several legitimate ways to play a close quarters elimination and as I said before... I will always play by the rules of the event/field I am attending... Even if they differ from my personal opinion of how I think it "should" be handled. (And for you haters out there, my opinion is not always right... it is only an opinion. So please, get over yourselves and just play...)
Really this is showing someone respect? You know the words people throw out there, they should be mindful of. See I don't put myself out as the good little guy who wants to be friends with everyone and wrap myself in all that crap that he does. So regardless of whether I play by his rules or not, he has to be held accountable to the words he put out there regardless of who they are directed at.
Or he needs to change his tagline and team motto to: We take pride in good sportsmanship and treat all other players with respect......unless you are TB.
And Doug that email goes both ways Brother, you should have known that talking that yang about me was going to get back to me. You could have pre-empted all of this if you thought it was going to be a misunderstanding. As for me, I didn't misunderstand a damn thing. Why post on a site I no longer read? You can come post here if you like.....or if you want to take me task. Want me to pinky swear not to cuss you out in the debate?
take care and I hope to see you at another game soon.
Willy
And We will be back in the NE, and if Doug wants to talk in person, on the phone, via IM, or hell even carrier pigeon, I am pretty easy to find. Same goes for you, stop by and introduce yourself if you like.
