No love for sponsors

Now, I'm the first to admit, I think sponsors in paintball are kind of a joke. Unless you're getting free gear, or they're paying your travel and paint, it's not worth mentioning. A lot of people disagree with me though, just cycle through any forum and look at the signatures. It is sponsors, sponsors, and more sponsors.
So this morning I'm pointed to this:

A Custom Event Jersey (Special Forces or Inmate)
A Custom event Barrel Cover (Special Forces or Inmate)Custom Jersey
The custom jersey and barrel cover are a limited edition run made specifically for this event. You will be required to wear the jersey and play as an inmate or Special Forces. The jerseys are very cool, a collectors item and yours to keep.
If I were a sponsor, and my teams had to cover up the logos I paid money for them to wear, I'd be upset. Just sayin'.
This whole thing touches on a lot of issues at once. I won't lie, custom event stuff is cool. I like that... but being forced to wear it? Now you're back into the pit of further reducing the skill level of play. Where does it stop?

General Safety:
• Dead mans walks are not permitted because there is no armband tape to distinguish
whether a player is in or out.
Say what?????
If your gun, or your hand isn't up. Or if I ask you you don't tell me your out, your a live player.
Second, if they want to require people to wear an event jersey they can...it's their game. I don't see how that lowers the intelligence level of the game. It just means you have to be more innovative to perform tasks that are easier in other games. Such as putting on a set of fake shackles so you can become a "prisoner" and get them to escort you to their base, or any number of things.
Granted, it's hard to stand out when you have no control over what you wear, and I agree that it should be players choice since they are paying to be there. However, if the field/promoter wants it a certain way then so be it.
I think we all know that it's just not reality.
Lets take a hypothetical situation... you pull a shirt over that jersey, head straight to the enemy base, and pop their general.
Now, a bunch of people are going to go running, screaming, to the game director calling you a cheater. You can point out that you are wearing the jersey, and are abiding 100% by the rules as written, but the other team will not care, and the promoter will not care. You'll be yelled at for violating the alleged spirit of the rule. Clarification will be put out that you MUST wear the jersey on top and not obscured, since that is the point of having them in the first place.
Cleverness and creativity is not wanted, nor asked for, and you'll just be labeled a cheater, even if you didn't.
I get the impression that this game is being put on exclusively to exhaust some of Cousin's stale paint and/or to derive some extra play at their field. They're doing everything that they can to insure it's a run-n-gun fest it seems to me. The jersey and dead man's walk rules go to this point. It's a shame too that a day of rec speedball on all of their fields is being called a scenario.
Then again that is what I would do.
Again, fufills the team and sponsors needs all in one.
