They also state in the rules the follow

General Safety:

• Dead mans walks are not permitted because there is no armband tape to distinguish
whether a player is in or out.

Say what?????

You need armband tape to determine if a player is in or out? Last "scenario" I played we were told by Darkman himself, that tape was not required...
If your gun, or your hand isn't up. Or if I ask you you don't tell me your out, your a live player.

So players cannot be trusted to be aware of the fact that a person in a different required jersey then the one they are wearing, are not actively screaming like a Banshee and charging them, might just be on the other team?

Refusing dead man walks based on no armband tape is absurd, since at no other game do you have to remove your ABT when you are eliminated...you raise your hand and put on the barrel sleeve...LAME!

Second, if they want to require people to wear an event jersey they can...it's their game. I don't see how that lowers the intelligence level of the game. It just means you have to be more innovative to perform tasks that are easier in other games. Such as putting on a set of fake shackles so you can become a "prisoner" and get them to escort you to their base, or any number of things.

Granted, it's hard to stand out when you have no control over what you wear, and I agree that it should be players choice since they are paying to be there. However, if the field/promoter wants it a certain way then so be it.

It says you're required to WEAR the jersey. It doesn't say you're required to NOT cover said jersey with your own. Nor does it state that you're required to wear in it's designed fashion (as a shirt). Wear it as a hat, or a belt...or your underwear. When a ref asks, drop your pants and show them you're wearing your jersey as required! ;)

Pyro, while that's the ideal way that things should work in scenario play..

I think we all know that it's just not reality.

Lets take a hypothetical situation... you pull a shirt over that jersey, head straight to the enemy base, and pop their general.

Now, a bunch of people are going to go running, screaming, to the game director calling you a cheater. You can point out that you are wearing the jersey, and are abiding 100% by the rules as written, but the other team will not care, and the promoter will not care. You'll be yelled at for violating the alleged spirit of the rule. Clarification will be put out that you MUST wear the jersey on top and not obscured, since that is the point of having them in the first place.

Cleverness and creativity is not wanted, nor asked for, and you'll just be labeled a cheater, even if you didn't.

Oh, I know. I was throwing it out there for anyone who wanted to play on the slippery slope. I'm also quite certain that the house refs on that field, seeing a player "not wearing" their jersey will summarily JP said player and/or send them up top for eviction from the event.

I get the impression that this game is being put on exclusively to exhaust some of Cousin's stale paint and/or to derive some extra play at their field. They're doing everything that they can to insure it's a run-n-gun fest it seems to me. The jersey and dead man's walk rules go to this point. It's a shame too that a day of rec speedball on all of their fields is being called a scenario.

On the same note TB the players can take one of those handy stich things and place a logo banner of their teams sponsors on the shirt and theam name accross the back and whALa!

Then again that is what I would do.

Again, fufills the team and sponsors needs all in one.
